Something that happened today.
She's one of my classmates and one of my very few close friends. And she's scarily good at avoiding/brushing off/(i dunno what she does but she does it) at one of the taboo topics: religion.

She reads the Bible for the experience, she just didn't believe that Jesus is the Son of God who came to die for our sins, to her Jesus was just a prophet; a man of philosophy. I managed to talk to her once before about Christianity and found out she actually knows it better than Christians I know. O.o

Well today's her brithday and I wrote an extremely long letter to her. I felt it was the best way to connect; I can't express myself too well with words. There I challenged her to seek the truth, even if its not going to be what she'd like to see. I challenged her to stop reading the Bible as a mere story but actual historical events. I reminded her that God gave us the choice of life or death.

And I prayed that her mind will be open (she's the skeptical kind). Through class all day I was all 'Oh God please don't let her just ignore it again'

THANK GOD He answered my prayer. She told me that she would surely think about what I wrote, and knowing her that's amazing.

So I'm going to pray for her to hear Jesus knocking at the door of her heart. And that she'll let Him in.

My mother used to ask me what is the most important part of the body. Through the years I would take a guess at what I thought was the correct answer. When I was younger, I thought sound was very important to us as humans, so I said, "My ears, Mommy." She said, "No. Many people are deaf. But you keep thinking about it and I will ask you again soon." Several years passed before she asked me again. Since making my first attempt, I had contemplated the correct answer. So this time I told her, "Mommy, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be "Our eyes." She looked at me and told me, "You are learning fast, but the answer is not correct because there are many people who are blind." Stumped again, I continued my quest for knowledge and over the years, Mother asked me a couple more times and always her answer was, "No. But you are getting smarter every year, my child." Then one year, my grandfather died. Everybody was hurt. Everybody was crying. Even my father cried. I remember that especially because it was only the second time I saw him cry. My Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say our final good-bye to my grandfather. She asked me, "Do you know the most important body part yet, my dear?" I was shocked when she asked me this now. I always thought this was a game between her and me. She saw the confusion on my face and told me, "This question is very important. It shows that you have really lived in your life. For every body part you gave me in the past, I have told you were wrong and I have given you an example why. But today is the day you need to learn this important lesson". She looked down at me as only a mother can. I saw her eyes well up with tears. She said, "My dear, the most important body part is your shoulder." I asked, "Is it because it holds up my head?" She replied, "No, it is because it can hold the head of a friend or a loved one when they cry. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometime in life, I only hope that you have enough love and friends that you will always have a shoulder to cry on when you need it." Then and there I knew the most important body part is not a selfish one. It is sympathetic to the pain of others. People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will NEVER forget how you made them feel. The origination of this letter is unknown, but it brings a blessing to everyone who passes it on. Good friends are like stars...You don't always see them but they’re actually always there in your heart. Pass this on to your best of friends. There isn't any minimum or maximum of the number of people you can sent to, just make sure the persons you sent to matters to you A LOT. Don’t forward, just copy and paste.

As you can see, unless you've did exactly what your parents told you not to and stared directly into the sun and are now blind, which leaves me to wonder WHY you are staring at a computer screen you cannot see, here are pictures..

(Edit) I wrote a whole long post last night, but blogger expertly swallowed the whole thing up as it did to so many of mine when I had a blog. Now you know why I don’t have one. So much for claiming that it saves drafts automatically.

But hopefully, here they are anyway, as I wait for the evidently malfunctioning software that claims to add photo files to load. So far all I’m getting in a blank white page mocking me with every passing second.

(Edit [again]) So this is the fourth time blogger crashed on me. And I’m typing this on Microsoft word and planning to copy paste the entire thing on blogger within 11 seconds before blogger and my equally erroneous and inadequate internet connection meet up and plot to take over the world. (Starting with me screaming hysterically in front of the silicon screen.)

At least now the blogger picture uploading thing is showing me something. As for why I’ve been glaring at a yellow triangle with a black exclamation mark with grey lines idiotically circling the triangle endlessly like a mouse on caffeine overdose, gee, I have no idea.

OH ITS WORKING. ONE PICTURE UPLOADED. HALLELUJAH.
Now two, then three. etc, MUAHAHAHAHAHA.
Maybe I shall give a short synopsis of the dramatic events that unfolded in the kitchen, especially when eggs of a certain detested household pest was discovered by someone with a exceptionally loud shriek.

To all my DEAREST girls and boys, half the year has just passed us. Im wondering what have you learnt or experienced from God these 6 months. Have you forged close friendships with someone, someone whom you can share your darkest secrets and not just happy times? Do you enjoy coming to church or dread each sat? Have you grown one step closer to God and know His character more? Do you feel you have changed for the better?

When i think of all of you, I just thank God that He blessed me with such a wonderful cell. Although there may be sad and disappointing times, but God is faithful to all of you. There are so many of you in cell, and Andy and I cant possibly manage all of you and spend as much time with you as we want to. But we pray for all of you, individually,every night and trust that God who is faithful will meet with all of your needs and give you the love from a Heavenly Father.

My dream is to see all of you become godly leaders and people one day. You are all unique in your own ways, funny, tall, short, encouraging, joyful, quiet etc. Do you believe that God can use you so mightily even now? I want to challenge all of you to love abit more, care abit more, encourage abit more, smile abit more so that cell can be such an enjoyable and uplifting place. We may be a big cell, but i hope we double or triple! All of you are needed for this to happen! We need more leaders, more encouragers, more initiators and more prayer warriors in cell. 6 more months left to the year, I really pray that you all will push yourself a little more in your walk with God and in your friendships with each other. Nothing pleases God more than to see His children hungering after Him. Andy and I love all of you very much!

Fourteen year old Megan became a christian three weeks ago.Now she's faced with tough choices in living out of her new life.Some of her friends at church,for example, are telling her to drop her non-christian friends."They will influence you the wrong way.You need christian friends now," they insist.Do you agree?
Admit it:relationships are a major influence.So it's no minor point when people argue that you need close christian friends.You need them because you can count on them for strength and encouragement while you grow as a christian.
But your non-christian friendships are important also-for different reasons.First, you are the best person to win your non-christian friends to Christ.And there's a second reason to stay friends: If you ditch them, they could blame Christ for losing you as a friend.Then if someone tells them about becoming a christian,their response could be, "YEAH,sure,and trash all my friends?No way!"
An exception to that rule: If your non-believing friends are a negative influence on you, you have to distance yourself enough to play it safe.When you back off, give them the option of coming closer to Christ.Let the rejection come from them,not the other way around.
One warning: If you spend time with non-Christians to win them to Christ, you might catch it on both ends.Non-christian friends may mock you because you won't get involved in some of their activities,and christian friends might reject you because they assume you're diving into sin. If that happens,take heart. You're in great company.

The best way to shut down and gossip, of course, is to win at least one of you non-christian friends to Christ.The new believer will set the record straight. But in the meantime, don't stop reaching out to your non-christian friends-and don't get mad at your christian friends.Just press on and do what Jesus did.Show God's love to all of them.

Hi nurses! well, with regards to Joshua's short entry, it's very true that everywhere in Singapore we can spot evil. It's very easy for us to condemn what others are doing and the idols they are worshipping right? But underlying all these idol worshipping is satan himself. It can be the Buddhist, muslim, satanist etc they all worship the same god- devil.

Why do we see SOOO MANYYY people crying out to idols?
This is because simply, the world is blinded. When they were born, their parents worshipped these gods and it's the only gods they know. It's not easy for them to turn away from other gods, unlike some of us who are born into christian families. Most people dont think about life, about their purpose on earth. They dont wonder about the gods they follow as well, they simply just follow in the footprints of their parents. Those who wonder and find out will find God. Remember the verse "For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." People who really think about their existence on earth and seek for their purpose here will find God one day. But many do not think or wonder, that's why they are so blinded in their ways, that's why we have to pray.

Joshua, im glad that you saw deeper into this situation. Remember nurses, we must always LOVE the SINNER but HATE the SIN. I really enjoy your entries, do post up more of these entries so that we can clarify and strengthen each other in our walk with God.

OPENING THY EYES.
Theres this incident i wanna share. On the sunday of the worship team bonding. i went home at 5 and my parents brought me and my sis to the funeral wake of my dad's friens mother. They were buddist.hard-core buddist. So needless to say u can imagine wad "props" were at the wake. i saw ppl praying to the idols.At first i was irritaed.but then i suddenly understood sth.to them this was their god.i could feel the desparateness of the family members.I dun relly noe how to express how i feel but im soo suprised tat its only now tat i hav seen and realized the extend of this thing? i mean its like it has nvr crossed my mind tat deep before, ppl worshipping idols.Not sth tat crosses the normal school life.its rly the 1st time i'm beginning to understand a bit more. before that i usaully dismiss the experience,forget it or just get irritated.but now as i go a bit more deeper i cant draw a satisfying conclusion.The basic one comes down to reasoning why the unbelievrs must be saved.somethings i worked out is tat this is how evil the world is?imagine millions of ppl around the world worshipping idols.man tat suks...anyway i feel like im missing sth. hopefully any1 from the cell can help yea?.pls respond in the tag board.

Does it ever trouble you that the righteous seem to suffer, while the wicked seem to escape suffering? Have you ever gotten the bad end of a deal while somebody else - perhaps.

Even a professing Christian - came out on top after doing something he shouldn't have done? If so, this passage will encourage you:

The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance... so that men will say, 'Surely there is a reward for the righteous; surely He is God who judges in the earth.'

When someone else hurts us, when we get the bad end of a deal, we must first accept the burden and realize there is no real justice in the world today. Oh, there's some justice, of course. We are grateful for what the law is doing.

But fundamentally, it seems that those who are doing good are being persecuted, while those who are doing evil are being promoted.

Accept the burden of this seeming inequality. That's the way things are in this world.

Second, leave the situation with the Lord. When someone does something that shouldn't be done, we immediately want to right the wrong and punish the wrongdoer. But we must leave it with God. He says, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay. -Romans 12:19"

That leads to a third word of counsel: Wait on the Lord. Your reward is yet to come. This world is heaven for the unsaved. They never will experience the joys and blessings in the glory of eternity with the Lord. But a believer's heaven is yet to come. Heaven is a place of unmixed joy; hell is a place of undiluted sorrow. In this world we have a mixture of sorrow and joy. Wait, for your reward is yet to come.

At times this world appears to lack justice. You need not fret over this. When you are faced with inequality, leave your burden with the Lord and wait patiently for Him to resolve the issue. For God's people, the best is yet to come.

at times, we really think that 'hey, this isnt fair. hey, that isnt fair.' and usually, people would bug over that issue for quite a long time. coming to think of it, isnt it quite foolish to be wasting your precious time over this fairness issue? we should really just leave it all to God; He has all the best planned for us.

Dear Daddy,
I pray a short prayer to God that You, our heavenly Father, will bless each and every one of us. Give us grace Lord, give us the pair of eyes needed to see this world clearly. Enable us, Daddy, to know what is good and harmful to us, and guide us to walk the path you carved for us.
